Forest Growth Models

The FORSKA model was originally developed to simulate forest dynamics in Scandinavia (Prentice & Leemans 1990; Prentice et al. 1993). It simulates growth, regeneration and mortality of individual trees on small forest patches. FORSKA shares the common gap model structure with many other models (Shugart 1984), but it includes more mechanistic formulations of tree growth and some environmental constraints of forest growth than most earlier gap models.
